Can having the bumper replaced cause the check engine light to come on?

Asked by Prius2007 Mar 20, 2015 at 07:46 PM about the 2007 Toyota Prius Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Some ran into the back of my car while I was at a stop sign.  Small hole in rear bumper
drivers side.  I went to pick up the car from the body shop & new bumper looks great but
the check engine light is on & not going off.  I would appreciate it if someone could let me
know if anything done at the body shop could cause this?  Thank you
