What is the main issue on my car that prevents it from driving or even putting it to drive? What are the repairs?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Edition. I have a new head gasket this week and an oil changed today. Before getting the head gasket change the car would turn on and when I put it to drive it would turn off and I had to park and then turn it on again then put it to  drive the second time it would work yet it keep doing that multiple times. I heard from a mechanic it might be a sensor but he wasnt specific. After my head gasket and oil change the car will turn on but when i put it to drive it would automatically turn off. It has no problem when i put it to reverse. As well my car turns off automatically on its own when its parked after 10 or more mins.  Only when I put it to drive my car shuts off automatically.
