Is there a way to fix power locks on an 02 Chrysler Pt Cruiser Touring Edition?

Asked by Jessica Jul 02, 2016 at 02:43 PM about the 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My push button doesn't work and the power lock button on the doors won't work. No error code for the issues and all wires look fine. Reset the power locks and didn't work. Battery is still good. Fuses are all good and work as well.

The switches on BOTH doors are not working? If it's only one set of lock switches not working, try swapping them with the other doors and seeing if it now works. Obviously they are shaped right-left so you can't install them, but you'll know if the problem is due to a bad switch module. (alternatively, if you know your way around an electrical schematic, you could test the pins for proper voltage). If the switches are working, you may have a problem with the lock actuator - it may seem like a longshot that more than one door's lock actuator would fail, but I've seen it happen (I've had two fail within a day of each other on the same car). Hopefully I've understood your problem correctly.
