Interior Lights Coming On

20

Asked by PTJoe Nov 06, 2010 at 06:59 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Wagon FWD

Question type: General

The interior lights on my 2004 Cruiser GT just started coming on in a dimmed state immediately after turning off the ignition and before opening the door.  When doors are opened they brighten to normal and go off when the doors are closed.  It happens primarily after an extended drive (15+ minutes).  Any suggestions?

My 2005 PT does the same it is normal. As soon as you shut the car off the interior lights will come on then go to a brightened state when the door opens. The lights turn off after the door closes after about 30-40 seconds. Did you have the interior lights turned off at the directional lever all this time?

Thanks Richard. Not sure if the interior lights were not working adequately or something else changed. Neither my wife nor I remember the lights coming on when the ignition was turned off, and since it does not happen all the time, it had us worried. Thank you very much.
