2005 PT Cruiser overheating while idling

Asked by David Nov 07, 2019 at 12:43 PM about the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know you all will probably tell me I am wasting time and money but here it
goes.  I have replaced the radiator, fan, radiator cap, thermostat, temperature
sensor, temperature sensor wiring harness, low speed fan relay and it runs
fantastic until I get home.  In less than five minutes of idling it overheats.  I can
hear the fans functioning properly.  I would have sent it off to junk for Jesus but
my 10 year old son ababsolutely loves the car.  It's his little Meep Meep (the
sound the horn makes earned it his nickname)

You could try installing a heavier duty radiator. I would first try a bottle of Water Wetter in the coolant which should help reduce heat build up.
