Battery light on Dodge Grand Caravan 1998?
The battery light came on on my van. Took it to Kragens they tested it and said Battery was good that problem was the alternator. Battery reads 11.89 Volts when engine is running and if negative cable is removed while running the engine dies. So, I changed the alternator. No luck. Same symptoms - changed the fuseable link, no luck same issue. What else could it be?

it could be the battery monitoring system. i dont really know how that works on a 1998 caravan. you should find out the allowable battery voltage until the battery lights on before ignoring the 11.89v

I had the battery light come on my 1999 Dodge Caravan. I had the altinator checked three times and every time it checked out ok. I noticed some corrotion on the hot cable to the battery. I took the cable off the battery and cleaned it and put it back on. The problem was just that. The battery cable was so corroded it would not admit eletricity to enter the battery when the car was running. First thing is check and clean your cables to the battery.
