01 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving into town and my van started
spitting and sputtering, gurgled and died. We
discovered it was the fuel pump. Someone
doctored it up for me to get home. I was on
my way to town again, and while driving, it
started not getting enough fuel and kept
spitting and sputtering again and finally died
when I came to a complete stop. We fixed
the original problem with the fuel tank, but
this time it didn't start. It's getting plenty of
fuel now, I checked all the fuses, it has half a
tank of gas, and the battery is fully charge. It
tries to turn over, but doesn't seem to be
getting any fire... I am not sure what it could
be... any suggestions as to what it could
be???

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. If your missing everything, have to check rpm signal. Some dodge vehicles, the computer has to see both crank and cam position signals or it won't start. W/o testing, we're just shooting in the dark. my opinion
