I have a dead GMC Envoy?

Asked by Kelby Feb 03, 2024 at 06:48 PM about the 2003 GMC Envoy XL SLE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hauled GMC Envoy on trailer. ran the day before. Went to move it off the
trailer and the battery was dead. couldn't get it fired up so we put it in neutral
while the key was in accessory position and moved it down hill. put the car in
park, put it on the battery charger. Came back later to turn it on and the car
has no power and the keys are now stuck in the ignition as if the car is still in
gear. Any suggestions?

Check for correct power at the power distribution box, if you have correct power there then start checking for blown main fuses and damaged power distribution connections underneath the box itself. Now as the battery has been dead you will also have the security system to deal with as it may have been activated.

The key is stuck in the ignition because you have no power. Check your battery cable connections at both ends too. Make sure everything is clean and tight. Hope that helps! Jim
