90 Ford Bronco won't start

Asked by Pambi67 Mar 16, 2020 at 10:11 AM about the 1990 Ford Bronco XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok... i have my daddys 90 ford bronco. Yesterday
while i was idled it just died. Would not crank but it
would turn over. FINALLY got it to crank and while
tryin to get home, it died goin down the road. Got it
cranked again, made it home. When i tried to crank
it again to move it, it made a "unnnk" sound when i
turn the key and then again when i let off the key
from tryin to crank it. It SOUNDED like it was comin
from under the hood, maybe the drivers side.

cranking IS turning over , starting is running . You may have a few problems , if it's not turning over the starter may have quit from cranking it , see if power is getting to it when you hit the key , if there's a heat shield on the original make sure you keep it for the newer one . If it up and dies you may have a rotted fuel line , if it's rotted at the top where it goes over the rear axle it won't leak but only suck more and more air . That things pretty old .
