Transmission starts slipping

I turn the truck off and start it back up I can
drive a few more miles then does it again

Once a transmission starts slipping that means it's time for a rebuild. Your truck is old enough, and probably has plenty of miles on it to boot. If you like the truck and want to keep driving it, have it rebuilt or try finding one in a salvage yard to save some coin.
