Crank but won’t start

Asked by GuruV83YN Sep 05, 2018 at 11:30 AM about the 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SLT Extended Cab Stepside SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The other day I got in my 1995 Sierra and it
cranked but wouldn’t start. It’s turning over
strong so I know it’s not a compression
issue. I’ve changed the fuel pump,
distributor cap, rotor, coolant temperature
switch, plugs and wires, coil and my truck
cranks but still won’t start. After test
lighting the fuse box I later discovered that
three fuses aren’t lighting up: 1.Fuel Sol,
2.ECM-1 3.Eng-1. These fuses are good
but isn’t getting power.  I’m not getting fuel
or spark. The fuel pump relay is goo but
the fuel pump doesn’t come on when you
turn the key but it kicks on when you jump
it with a wire from the fuse box. I’ve been
scratching my head for two days trying to
figure this out. Do you have any advice for
me?

Sounds like a wiring issue. Do you live where it's possible that weather has destroyed the wiring under the car? Possibly rats, squirrels, road treatments?
