Probably your alternator is bad. Have it checked out right away, the battery and alternator work together and you'll be stranded on the road if you don't get it replaced. By the way, the AAA has a great service for batteries and can check out your charging system, it's free to members. Plus, if you break down, you can call them for a tow.
Good advice Mark .... I'm a member and did not know that. Thanks Tom
Dont forget to check connections and circuit protections, cable ends and multiple cables going into one. they were recalled and replaced on the explorers for sure, batteries sweated, cables were exposed to unusual conditions resulting in self insulating or poor conductivity. Testing and system prechecks should always happen before buying a new reman electrical part like that. You dont say if the charging or alt lamp is lit., that you inspected or tested anything, even fuses
Battery cables of decent quality are difficult to find. Some repair ends are a good idea if you find that. The cable connection to the power distribution box can be a smart place to check. Then the fuses and relays inside that
