what is the recommended oil grade to use for a 1996 gmc sierra extended cab 4wd pickup

Usually requires 5w30. some hotter areas may require 10w30 but that's the thickest oil you should ever use in this vehicle - assuming of course this is a gas engine.

I use 5w30 in my 1995 sierra. I'd recommend using the high mileage partial synthetic from castrol if you have over 75k (which I would imagine your 96 would). My truck still runs perfect with 275k with that oil

should a 1989 gmc sierra use 5w 30 or 10w 30 we use a bosch 3510 oil filter

1 use synthetic 05-30 in my 1996 k1500 V-6 and the cheapest filter available. Change at 3,000 miles, 105,000 miles and running fine.

So I got a 96 gmc sierra 1500 reg cab what oil do i use n I just bought this trucks its got 282,000 miles should I change the tranny fluid n what do I use

So my truck when u stomp on the gas seems like it doesn't want to go fast but when u eas on the pedal it does gain speed

We have an 88 gmc and had same problem, catalytic converter is stopped up.
