Do you have oversize wheels/tires? That will make it harder to turn, especially at slow speeds. It's not going to be a 1-finger on the steering wheel regardless..but what we need to know is your definition of "stiff"...to one person it's normal and to another it's stiff.
ok, it has the factor wheels and tires per tire size on door. friend has 1996 chevy long wheel base and it steers way easier. which got me thinking something is wrong. i have check other models after that and mine is about 50% power.
Ok, I didn't mean to insult you, no offense -- please understand I believe you, especially now that you have compared it to another Sierra, it's just that I have had that happen, people expect too much, but that's not the case here with you. Next thing comes to mind is pump drive belt, if it's tight, not slipping under load...but you would hear that. Let me go to some forums and see if anybody else has same problem. Be a few minutes.
OK all I found was that could be ball-joints hanging up. This is not your Sierra, but same principle. Where I drew circles are pivot points, I don't know if they have a grease zerk or not, if if they do a good shot of grease will help... click to size up
ok, i am going to look at belt and joints this evening. thanks for guidance.
