98 gmc 350 vortes new fuel pump.truck will start .when you shut it off should it have fuel pressure on the fuel rail mien dont it bleeds off as soon as you turn the key off what could this be

Yes there would be fuel pressure at the rail when you turn it off. You must have a hard starting condition or black smoke and a check engine light on? Anyway, it is because your spider injection is leaking. It is recommended to replace the whole spider injection assembly.
