2001 GMC Sierra 4x4 sputters and surges as soon as it hits 40 and will continue unril you pass 50 mph. If you keep into the trottle and higher rpm than idel its ok. Let off it starts again.

Doesn't matter the load, grade, but if
you put cruise on it helps abit.

Replace your Throttle position sensor. If no change, replace the EGR.

Machanic saox it was intake manifold crack. He replaced it. No change. Taking it back tomorrow. I will definitely tell him to check these.
