1998 GMC Sierra c1500 4.3 vortec wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My brother 1998 GMC Sierra 4.3 won't start, I
recently changed the fuel pump and fuel filter due
to the fact that it would just randomly die while
driving. Ran like a champ for about a week but
yesterday afternoon died again and never started
unlike before, changed the relay and took the
ignition control module to get tested and it came
back good. And after cranking about 20 times it
finally started and I could clearly hear the fuel pump
but turned it off and it won't start again and can't
hear the fuel pump. Please help

check for proper spark and fuel pressure , some vehicles are fussy just having them won't do , make sure the injector(s) are firing , the pump needs a good ground also
