I was driving down the road at 55 mph and my
2000 gmc Sierra shut. Acted like it ran out of fuel.
But it wasnt. I replaced the fuel pump and it didn't
fix it. What could be the issue?

is it trying to pump fuel / pump run / flow /power ??? did you also change/check the fuel filter?????

I didn't check the fuel filter. I'll do that. And no, when you turn the key, you used to hear the fuel pump turn on like it was priming itself and it doesn't anymore. When you turn the key now the engine cranks and cranks and cranks but won't start.
