2000 gmc sierra driving went dead now no spark changed crank sensor

the crank sensor has just what to do with the no spark?? your ignition coil has to send the electron to the plug. So wouldn't it be a better idea to replace the coil??Did you physically take the plug out of the well and test it for proper gap to see the spark/ no spark??
