First of all, does this happen when the gas tank is full of gas? I had a 1997 GMC Yukon that did similar. It would die at stop lights/signs. Would not start again, then when I filled it with gas, no problem. As you slow down for a stop light, it could be that the gas level is flowing forward and when you stop, it levels out. My fuel pump was internal to the gas tank and when it was removed the top half of it was actually burned, so as the level of fuel lowered the float touched the burned part and showed the tank as empty even though it was half full. As long as it was full, I had no problem. Just a possibility in your case.
