All I can suggest is to shop around and compare warranties and online reviews.

I always recommend keeping the orignal major parts for your car unless its absulutly nessercay to replace it. rebuild will also last you the life time of the car provided they did the job right. Mr transmission is preaty good and should be in chicago. the worest of the damage would be the gears likely being worn out which will be replaced in a rebuild as well as the seals and most bearings. It will be like a brand new trany when you get it back. it may cost a little but more then a used trany but it should come wit ha decent warrenty and the assurance of reliability. buying a used trany is like throwing a bandaid on a gushing wound.

find the one with the best review and go there the one on 111th st has a good review. mind you its only 4 reviews but its the highest. Mr transmission also offers free diagnostics to tell you what swrong with the car. Just be aware they might hit you with a reinstall fee because some of those shops will make it an excuse to do your work. will be something along the lines of " well we have it out might as well do the service" get the quote first before they continue the workafter the free inspection.
