So I have 2 questions. 2 problems. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra. 4 door/2WD. 5.3 automatic.

Asked by kandiaxis Apr 14, 2015 at 02:27 PM about the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Problem 1) when I go to leave and
shift into reverse sometimes it won't
go. It acts like it's in neutral. I put it
back in park then to reverse and
we're good to go. Problem 2) the
other day I was on a slight incline
and stopped behind buses. Buses
move I take my foot off of brake to
push the gas and it won't go. I put
my foot back in brake and put into
park and then shift back into drive
and won't go and starts to roll
backwards. I try hitting brake and it
seems like the brake pedal is stuck
and I keep rolling. Finally I got
stopped and put the truck back into
park and turn it off and start it again,
shift into drive and we're good to go.
PS. Truck has drum brakes.

First Question if you haven't changed Trans Fluid, you might want to try this get a quart of a conditioner called TransX it replaces 1 qt of fluid it softens all seals and lubes all internal parts as long as nothings broken it will keep everything working proper.. You don't have to ever worry about taking it out either....2nd question check all brakes after removing drums of course, you also may want to have your brake control switch located behind brake pedal checked too it helps brake to work proper.. And if your check engine light should be coming on, have the code read... I really hope this helps.......
