Car cranks but won’t start

Asked by Shawncreech01 Jul 18, 2019 at 01:02 PM about the 2003 Audi A4 1.8T quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro and the car
cranks and cranks and no start. I’ve replaced
thus far with the car starting only for 5
seconds then dying:
New fuel pump
New spark plugs
New coil packs
New alternator
New valve cover gasket
New shift linkage
Nothing seems to make the car start and stay
running. This car is a race car, it has 33
deletes and runs off a KO4 Turbo and 650cc
headers.

Scan for codes before replacing any more parts. The only part that may not set a code is fuel filter...check it out if more than 30K miles old. Also check for spark as there is a cam and crank sensor that provides spark. If more than 100K miles, check the timing belt didn't jump a cog or two.
