headlight goes on and off of A6 2.7T 2001 what needs to be done? thanks!

is it the bulb or something electrical?
can i do fix this myself or is it a dealer issue?

Yes, you may need to have this checked out, I know mom's '04 Audi has HID headlamps, which I am slightly unfamiliar with the operation of, but I know they react differently than regular lamps and have their own sets of problems.

Check the connection to the bulb. Personally, I would replace the bulb also.
