I have a Audi a6 2.7 turbo year 2001 milage 142.000 on it and the head gasket blew on it is it a good idea to get it fixed or should I just get a new car

if you take it to a shop expect a massive bill. id be willing to guess about 6k. if you drink beer and do it yourself, expect to pay about 400 if you only buy the gaskets and new bolts

the car is worth next to nothing with a blown head gasket and that mileage. so if you are able to get a new car id do so and give fixing this one yourself a shot. its a fairly cheap fix if you can turn some wrenches. maybe call up a friend from the auto industry and have him give you a hand and supply beer and food. make a day out of it.
