car has been leaking brake fluid from under the master cylinder posts. ( i know they have to be replaced asap) but yesterday a ran very low on fluid and notice the brake lights are stuck in the on position even with the engine off! ...refilled with fluid and still on. do I have air in the brake lines?
Please help.

i would say yes you have air in the lines you need to bleed them
Air in the lines would trip the dash board idiot light for your brakes but NOT leave your brake lights on. One has nothing to do with the other. So are you talking about the brake idiot light or the brake lights? If idiot light it will not reset until you fix and bleed the brakes. If the BRAKE LIGHTS, it is a bad switch under the dash at the side of the brake pedal lever.

indeed JP, it actually was the small plastic thumb piece that goes inserted in the brake pedal frame. it works in conjunction with the brake switch under the dash at the side of brake pedal. a $2.84 cent plastic piece solved the issue. as for the leaking posts, parts went for $90.00 and the counter sales rep called it...our best seller! hummmm? ....Santa Fe owners take note.
