what usually goes wrong with 1999 a4 audi 1.8t quattro after 180000 miles

my car idols too low coming to a stop and is there any way to get the carbon build up from my engine without the cost?

Try cleaning the air mass flow sensor and the idle control motor. Get a carb or injector cleaning spray from any car parts shop or ebay and see if that makes a difference
