Starts n runs for 4 seconds

My son bought this jeep w no keys
for doors or ign, so I replaced iGN
switch n key lock n now it starts,
runs 4 seconds n shuts off. HELP.
My sons been in hospital n rehab
since Jan, I'd really like to get this
running for him b4 he comes home
Pls help me.

I don't know the year. Your jeep might have an ignition key with a chip in it. the dealer can tell you. A regular key will open the door and will fit and start the car, however, the anti-theft system will not allow the car to start. It will start then shut off after 2-5 seconds. You might see an icon on the dash that looks like a key in a circle with a line through it on left side of dash
