What do I need to know before trying to start my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the first time in two and a half years?

Asked by Crginsea Nov 09, 2015 at 05:12 PM about the 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I ran the engine in 95 Grand Cherokee two and a half years ago and have
had it in the garage unused ever since. Checked the gas three months ago
and it was good.  Assuming the quarter tank I've got has since gone bad what
do I need to know/do before trying to start it again?

The gas may look good but after 2 1/2 years it's probably no good and needs to be changed. I would do an oil change, new gas filter. After you get it started, i would do a transmission fluid change as well as antifreeze and thermostat...also new air filter..
