what could cause the courtsey lights and door locks to work intermitently on their own on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo?

the courtsey lights and door locks will turn on and off on their own , door locks will lock and unlock by themselves so was wondering what might cause this to happen.

to answer your question try checking to see if you have a bad fuse, sometimes this will cause your fault

if the door panel has been removed in the past. the wires in the door panel could be in i bind and that will make this happen also. has happened to me before

also could be a bad switch. they do crazy things when they go bad. when mine went out everytime i would lock the doors, on the driver side the door would lock and the passenger side the door would unlock. opposite when i would unlock the doors.
