I have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo; straight 6; 4 wheel drive....love this
jeep!  lately the brakes have been rubbing and overheating...have replaced
pads, still having problems....any body have a solution for me?

It's the calipers that are not releasing as they should. That's a very common problem on these Jeeps and I think it is caused by those phenolic plastic pistons binding up. Steel piston calipers do much better but are not available for the Jeep. Anyway, in ten years I have replaced nine calipers trying to stay ahead of the problem. Running calipers that bind up and overheat can leave you stranded and causes heat damage to the seals and bearings, rotors and pads. In some cases even the brake hoses can cause the calipers to not release. Parts are usually covered by a one year warranty but labor is not.
