Sounds like your ABS unit is malfunctioning. Hopefully not because the price of the ABS module is off the richter scale expensive. Simple test: unplug the wiring harness to the ABS pump and drive and see if the problem goes away. Pick an area (parking lot) to try this test. The brake light will still come on because the ABS unit is disconnected, but this will tell you if this is where the problem is.

One other possibility is the brake shoe material has come loose from the web of the shoe and overlapping on the other brake shoe web for the emergency brake. It is on the internal side of the brake rotor. You would have to remove the rear rotors to verify this. Very common problem with the Jeep.

Have the same issue with an 05 Grand Cherokee...but sometimes it doesnt come back on for months....so checking in a parking lot might not work...any other way of testing the abs unit?
