What is causing my Jeep to quit working?

Asked by JustinCline Jul 20, 2016 at 08:05 AM about the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the crank positioning sensor, coil, plugs, wires, distributor cap,
rotor button, air filter, and fuel filter. It runs fine sometimes and sometimes it
quits and has a hard time starting back up. I'm going to change the distributor
next to see if that fixes the problem! I'm running out of ideas, Please help.

The best thing to do is check to see if vehicle is getting spark and or fuel when vehicle is not starting back up this will eliminate a lot of guessing. Is the check engine light on ?

Replacing the distributor is the only thing left to try but you may want do a compression test on those cylinders. You can also try replacing camshaft sensor before replacing distributor.
