97 Jeep Grand Cherokee battery put in backwards

So my jeep died and wouldn't start back, long story
short I went to swap the battery and put it in
backwards. The next day my boyfriend tried to put
the original battery back in it the right way but all it
did was spark and smoke. I later found out the
computer going bad was my original issue.
Basically I'm just trying to decide if even after
putting the battery in backwards if the car is worth
fixing or if I totally fried it.

Those jeeps can be an electrical nightmare to begin with , I don't know why any one would buy one in the first place .

You probably fried your computer, so think about putting a few hundred dollars into a repaired unit just to get it to start. Then compare that to what you expect to sell it for either repaired or "as is". I would try to get what you can out of it in an "as is" condition and look for a replacement vehicle.
