97 jeep gcl 4x4 4.0 grinding noise 35mph and up from back

Could be your rear brakes other the rear end. The older grand Cherokee's are famous for leaking axle seals. If the fluid runs out of the rear end because of the bad seals it will ruin the gears and axles in the rear end.
