can i put an ac compressor form a 96 grand cherokee on my 97?

I have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee and the a/c doesn't work. I looked and came across a
96 grand cherokee with an inline 6 (mine is a v8). I just wanted to know if I could put it on
my jeep to possibly stop a noise and maybe get my a/c back. Any advise would be
welcomed and appreciated!!

they look pretty similar, seems like one is just upside down and the mounting spots for the lines are just switched. I cant just unbolt that pice filp it over and use it?
