My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is
making noises in the wheel area when I turn and

Are you located were it is cold? Maybe you have snow and ice stuck up under there. If not, check for a broken or cracked spring and or a worn strut and steering components. It's best to get the front of the vehicle off the ground for that. You can then pry and move things around while you inspect for unnecessary movement.
