why does my jeep shake mostly while idling?

Asked by Orlando Mar 06, 2012 at 06:03 PM about the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: General

Ok i just did a block swap and got.the.truck running .
new.head gasket set. but now jeeps motor is jumpy so
tightened the mounts.i noticed most of the noise was
coming from the exhaust. Engine light indicated
ignition coil so i replaced that and it settled it about
10%. Now in park its jumpy and drive its louder only
till i hit about 20mph. so when I'm braking to stop it
idles so low and its so quiet it cuts off occasionally.
every other time it just jumpy.

my 04 jeep does the same thing. i believe its just the chassis of the jeep vs the weight of the motor. ends up shaking a little while idleing.
