valve job or what?

no smoke but definite stink, engine runs smooth no problem starting, got 221k, 4.7, no mods, new plugs and oil....

I would try some fuel cleaner. Sea foam is what I use. Add it to a tank of gas as directed on the can. Also tho sometimes cat converters give off a weird smell right before they start to fail.

Sea foam will not help for a cat issue but it will clean the valves of any carbon build up.
