what causes break lights not to work after changing the bulbs and checked the fuze

The switch under the brake petal. Check and see if you have power to that, and if so, jump the switch and see if they light up, this is especially likely if your turn signals still work

i changed the switch but the two main break lights still dont work only the one little one above the lift gate works

If the third brake light is working and the other lights work, check the wiring. The brakes lights and third brake lights are on the same circuit and all should get power. Something has come apart.
