2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee alarm goes on while driving

ignition is periodically dead, when turned on the alarm goes off

Turns out one of the battery terminals was slightly loose (barely) which triggered the alarm. I was advised at PePBoys to push the lock button on my remote to stop the Alarm, then re- tightened the terminals (which seemed tight). Thanks for all the other valid responses.
