Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi everyone. I have a 2001 grand cherokee. I
bought it knowing it had problems. The guy I
bought it from had the even side of the motor
rebuilt. It had a bent valve causing the catalytic
converter to turn cheery red. I'm the one that told
him what was wrong with it and he had that
problem fixed. We'll that didn't fix everything so he
sold it to me. I thought the computer needed
replaced because it was showing a code p0601 for
a bad pcm. So I replaced it and it didn't fix anything
put the code. Yes i had it flashed for the vin# and
milage. Now I'm get a code for all my coils. I
replaced all the coils and plugs. That didn't fix
anything either. It was misfiring at low RPMs at
first. Well I had to drive it to work yesterday and it
got a little worse but not much. When the motor is
under a load at like 70mph it seems fine so I
thought. The check engian light start flashing
witch put the pcm in limp mode. When I go to
come to a stop. It'll just stop running all together.
Turn it back on and go. I can not figure it out. I ran
a fuel presser test and it a 50lbs steady. I have not
ran a compression test yet though. I have hurd the
camshaft sensor could be bad. I wanna see what
people think before I throw more $ at it or take it
somewhere.

Did you check the spec for fuel pressure I seem to remember a spec of 60 psi, I've been wrong before and I lie on occasion just not here, you might try cleaning injector. I hope this helps you

If he did not have the catalytic converter replaced it needs to be when it turn cherry red that means it is clogged and needs to be replaced
