Ed is correct about coolant not flowing/bad water pump. I've heard that in this engine they used a water pump with plastic impellors that deteriorate and crumble with age. This would not circulate coolant even if the pump is turning. You might have to pull it off and inspect for impellor blades being intact.
Replacing the water pump and cooling fan relay switch is my nxt step today since I have work at 6:00 tonight and hopefully something works . Fingers cross

Regarding the water pump, if the blades appear to be intact, you might not have to replace it but you be the judge on that. And the cooling fan might not need a new relay if it's working. And that relay is in a tough spot under the right headlight plastic liner. Some people cut through there to reach it rather than take the bumper off. I never did one and I don't want to. Good Luck.
Hopefully something works and. thanks _2497

Wow. I am pleased to hear you found and fixed the problem without further expenses and headaches. And it was not a waste of time or money replacing those parts. These Jeeps run forever with a little bit of extra maintenance, and keep up with your oil changes. The 4.7 doesn't like dirty oil.
That’s one thing I do is the routine oil change and you can set a notification where you can put how much miles to the nxt oil change that was something I discovered when I was messing around with the gags overhead nxt to the sun roof . So my nxt step is to figure out how do I set the gas distance that tells you how much mike worth of gas I have
