Why don't my 01 jeep grand Cherokee not blowing hot air?

I have 2011 jeep Cherokee and I have no heat blows cold air then shuts on and off by it self. I had a thermostat put in and had a blower put in and that wasn't the problem and they want 900.00 just to take the dash apart to see what's wrong .. can anyone help ? I think this should be a recall it seems like everyone has this problem with jeep.
