Question type: General
For some reason... My 02 Grand Cherokees door
lighting won't turn off. Just The letters in the door
panels stay lit after turning everything off and
walking away for any amount of time.. dinner lights
etc work fine.. but having to pull battery in order to
stay charged over night.. not even sure if they're
supposed to be on or not... Anybody know if they
are, or any ideas? Just The control lettering in the
doors won't turn off...

I have the same problem with my jeep grand cherokee 4.0 in the UK is there a sensor because its not lite in the daytime
Found out it was a two part thing - First, the Driver's door instrument panel was bad , changed it out. And Second,. This is the embarrassing part - It was the position of the off switch in the ignition. What I mean is - Normally you would turn the key all the way towards you and pull them out when exciting a vehicle ( most cars ) ( that I've experienced) . .. Not with Jeeps.. Their off position is straight up. So, after learning that and changing that, problem solved.
