front wheels do not pull

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I drove it recently in the snow and the front wheels would not pull. It will spin both rear wheels, but the front wheels do not engage. I locked it in 4 wheel low and all four wheels pulled. Any ideas what could cause this? Thanks for any information that can be provided.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2000 Grand Cherokee. No idea what is the reason, but would surely appreciate some good advice...

someone a few months ago with a passport had the samething.he checked everything and found out it was a relay. maybe thats the case here.

mine is doing the exact same thing but my 4low works! but not 4wd all time
I am going to replace a leaking seal soon, so I will have a chance to give it a look over. From what I'm hearing it is most likely an electrical connection on the transmission or the transfer case pump.I'm hoping an electrical plug is the culprit. As soon as I find out something definite, I will let you know. Talk to you later, Dale
Sure. A complete re-build of the transfer case solved the problem. Costed some 1000+ euros (1500 $)
