Hi I have a Jeep GC Ltd 2002 that the heater/cooling system blower quit working or was intermittent. I changed out the module that the connector melted on but now very low blower speed even on high.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed out the module that had the melted connector under the passenger side dash.  It goes into the heating/cooling duct work under the dash.  The new module has longer sensor fins than the old one did but I don't think that is the problem.  The issue I have is now the regulator module seems to OVER control the current to the blower motor to keep the power connector from melting again.  Even on high my blower hardly blows at all and it won't even defrost the windshield very well when it gets cold out.  Any ideas?  I think Jeep is just over controlling the current to the blower motor to keep the connector from getting to hot now.  It is a safety hazard now because the blower will not blow hard enough to keep the windshield defrosted.
