2002 grand cherokee new blower motor twice with new resister only blowing at 20% speed. what did i do wrong?

i replaced the blower motor and the resister yesterday, but the fan would only
blow at about 20% speed and the motor got really hot, so i replaced the motor
again today, and same results. what did i do wrong? how do i fix it?

Something must be dragging on the impeller and you don't see it because the fan has to be running to suck it in ... Most DVM's have a current scale of 10 amps ,, that should tell you what's going on because if the motor draws more than 10 amps at 20% then your getting a partially locked rotor ... you should be blowing fuses well before the motor cooks

the second motor isnt running hot, but if im dragging something in the impeller, should i dismount the motor and look for anything in there? pull out any loose debris? fuses are all fine, just almost no power.
