Asked by rtmoody Feb 02, 2019 at 04:27 PM about the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a mopar brake caliper piston kit with phenolic pistons, ring seals, and
dust boots. I am not sure what to do with the orange grease.

The orange grease is a high temp grease to be used primarily on the caliper pins and holes, put some on the caliper anchor rails where the caliper and pads slide. Some people slop it all over the place only to have it wash onto the pads/rotors and ruin a perfect brake job. I've never seen it applied to the actual piston during a rebuild but you should call the dealer.....I've been wrong before on some of this new stuff.
