Air bag light on my Jeep Grand Cherokee comes on intermittently. Two dealers have
been unable to fault the car so I'm a bit stuck. One forum suggests disconnecting the
negative battery cable before checking the air bag system. Does that sound right and
where is the cable located (under the centre floor consol??). I appreciate any help.

The regular battery under the hood. And I don't know what you have in mind by "checking air bag system" but regardless..air bags are only to be touched by trained professionals. Period. This is a 2004, probably same or close to your '03 click to full screen

Agree but I've taken it two Chrysler dealers now and they can't find a fault but the light keeps coming on and off every so often (only for a few seconds each time). Don't fancy being in an accident and them not deploying so what to do? Question about negative battery cable was so I can brief an independent mechanic on possible options.
